New York Working Families Party endorses Senator Sean Ryan for Buffalo Mayor, backing his fight for working people

BUFFALO, NY — Today, the New York Working Families Party announced the endorsement of State Senator Sean Ryan for Buffalo Mayor. In the months ahead, the New York Working Families Party will work to support Sean’s candidacy — knocking on doors, engaging voters across Buffalo, and ultimately helping Sean win his election.

Candidates who apply for the Working Families Party endorsement complete a robust questionnaire and interview process. At a time when local elected officials are on the frontline of protecting our communities and democracy, NYWFP is investing deeply in races across the state to ensure New Yorkers have trusted leaders who fight for working families.

“The New York Working Families Party is proud to stand with Sean Ryan’s campaign for Mayor of Buffalo, NY. We have supported Sean’s campaign for State Senator, and we know him to be a tenacious fighter for working families. In uncertain and tough times for New Yorkers, Buffalo deserves a mayor like Sean Ryan, who will stand strong with unions and working families, and against Trump’s chaos and fear. We’re excited to join Sean in bringing a bold, transformative vision to Buffalo.” said Ana María Archila and Jasmine Gripper, Co-Directors, New York Working Families Party.

"I'm honored to have the support of the Working Families Party. WFP's endorsement sends a clear message: Our campaign is about putting working people first. We’re fighting for good-paying jobs, affordable housing, strong public schools, and a government that works for everyone — not just the well-connected,” said Sen. Sean Ryan, Buffalo mayoral candidate. “With WFP, the Erie County Democratic Committee, and organized labor, we’re building a coalition to fix the basics and tackle the big issues that have been ignored for too long. Buffalo should be a city where working people don’t just get by — they thrive.”

The Working Families Party will continue to announce further endorsements in local elections across New York State in the upcoming weeks.
