BUFFALO – Today, February 22, 2025, Senator Sean Ryan announced that he has earned the endorsement of the Erie County Democratic Committee (ECDC) in his bid to be the next Mayor of the City of Buffalo. ECDC, which represents a diverse group of Democrats in the City of Buffalo and across Erie County, unanimously voted to endorse Senator Ryan after hearing his inspiring vision for the City of Buffalo during the endorsement process.

Senator Ryan has a proven track record of results representing Buffalo in the state legislature since 2011. He has secured historic funding for education, police departments, and cultural organizations, and has been a champion for housing, securing key state funding to fill in vacant lots in Buffalo, rehab vacant units, and prevent evictions. As a leader in the state legislature he has passed an increase in the minimum wage and tied it to inflation, a groundbreaking paid family leave program, an expanded child tax credit and middle-class tax cuts, billions of dollars for clean water, and after the tragedy of 5/14 he led the charge to pass our nation's toughest gun laws to help save lives.
